WASHINGTON — Former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page have been subpoenaed as part of a Justice Department investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe, according to Fox News Digital.
Sources say the subpoenas were issued by a federal grand jury in Florida on Friday. The investigation is focused on how the 2016 Trump-Russia investigation, known as Crossfire Hurricane, began and whether there was any misconduct or political bias in the process.
In total, up to 30 subpoenas are expected to be issued in the coming days, targeting former intelligence and law enforcement officials involved in the early stages of the probe.
Brennan, who led the CIA under President Obama, and Strzok and Page, who were key figures at the FBI during the Trump campaign investigation, have not publicly commented on the subpoenas.
The Justice Department has not yet released an official statement on the matter, citing the confidentiality of grand jury proceedings.
