PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland woman was detained after allegedly obstructing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, according to authorities and video footage circulated on social media.
The incident, captured by journalist Katie Daviscourt, shows the woman running a red light and attempting to block ICE vehicles before being pulled over by law enforcement. In the footage, the visibly distressed woman can be heard panicking, hyperventilating, and repeatedly pleading, “I’m just a mom! I’m just a mom! … I’m shaking.”
According to a report by The Post Millennial, the woman was allegedly acting as a “spotter,” monitoring ICE activity in the area to warn undocumented immigrants about enforcement operations. Witnesses said she appeared to be coordinating with others stationed nearby.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that the woman’s information has been turned over to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for further review.
ICE has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident or potential charges.
The confrontation has sparked debate online, with some users condemning the woman’s actions as interference with federal operations, while others expressed concern over the emotional distress evident in the footage.
The situation remains under investigation.
